“Design, supply and turnkey removal & reinstallation of a new hot gas ducting system”

Project Description

PES’ scope of supply included three separate contracts for the design, supply and turnkey removal and reinstallation of a new hot gas ducting system. The ducting supplies energy from a Biomass Energy System to three veneer dryers with seven (7) zone control dampers and seven (7) return dampers. Return gas goes to the Energy System for re-burn and to the final gas cleanup system. PES provided the following:

  • Design replaced a non-functioning design for the 850 F supply and 350 F return conditions.
  • The process flow conditions were determined and evaluated for the new design.
  • All the GA and detail drawings for fabrication and installation were produced in ACAD.
  • Design of ducting allowed for installation over a two and a half week 24/7 plant outage.
  • Fabrication of all the ducting system from Corten Steel.
  • Supply of all materials for the complete ducting replacement including stainless exp. joints.
  • Removal of all the existing ducting to be replaced with new design.
  • Complete mechanical installation of the new ducting system.
